On site course for medical assistants as well as healthcare and nursing staff
The “Specialized Heart Failure Assistant” training course was developed in collaboration with the German Society of Cardiology to ensure the best possible and coordinated care for patients with chronic heart failure.
As a specialized heart failure assistant, you will, for example, take care of coordinated discharge management, the adjustment or titration of medication as well as regular follow-up checks, the telemedical co-care of patients with continuous monitoring of vital parameters and conduct patient training. In this way, they actively help to improve patients’ quality of life and minimize the risk of hospitalization.

Participation requirements
- Completed professional training as a medical assistant (MFA) or as a healthcare and nursing assistant
- At least three years of professional experience in a specialist cardiology practice, a GP practice with a focus on the care of patients with heart failure or in inpatient cardiology patient care
Certificate
After completing the training, participants receive a certificate from the German Society of Cardiology as a Specialized Heart Failure Assistant. The DGK supports this training and reimburses part of the course fee on presentation of the certificate afterwards (further information can be found here).

The on site training takes place in the Weißer Saal of the German Heart Center Charité.
