March 14 - 15, 2025
A lot has changed in recent years, both in the diagnosis and treatment of aortic diseases, and the aorta also received a lot of media attention in 2024 when it was declared an “organ” for the first time. So it’s time to take a closer look at the topic.
The classification of the aorta as a separate organ, which not only has a distribution function of oxygenated blood, sums up the many new findings on the structure, physiological function and pathogenesis of this largest circulatory organ. We are delighted that Professor Martin Czerny from Freiburg will be speaking to us about the basics of this new classification of the aorta. He led the task force for the creation of the new 2024 guideline for the treatment of aortic diseases.
We would like to offer you a forum for exchange between the involved specialist societies of cardiology and cardiosurgery, radiology and genetics and discuss the current standards of outpatient genetic and imaging diagnostics, surgical and interventional therapy with you.
In addition, the new DHZC Hands-on-Aortic-Workshop will give you the opportunity to deepen your knowledge of the basics through practical exercises on examination methods and interventions on the aorta.
We would like to discuss and classify the guidelines and scientific findings on the development, diagnosis and treatment of aortic diseases with you – with the following in mind: How do we recognize and treat aortic diseases in good time so that an aortic dissection can be prevented as far as possible? How will my actions change in 2025?
We are proud that this year we have been able to attract further renowned scientists and clinicians from the fields of cardiovascular surgery, human genetics, radiology and cardiology as speakers, who have been dedicated to the causes, diagnosis and treatment of aortic diseases for many years.
At the symposium, you will once again have the opportunity to meet, network, discuss and obtain information! In addition to medical colleagues, the forum is also aimed at physician assistants and interested representatives of the medical professions.
